Arriving by plane

Niš is accessible by air via Constantine the Great International Airport, located close to the city centre and serving as Serbia’s second-largest airport.

Flying directly to Niš

The fastest and most convenient option is to fly directly to Niš Constantine the Great Airport (INI) (ulica Vazduhoplovaca 24, Niš, Serbia).

After landing, the city centre can usually be reached within 10 to 15 minutes.

Transfer from the Airport

Licensed taxis are available directly in front of the terminal. Passengers are advised to use only official taxi services. All licensed taxis in Niš have “TX” as the last two letters on their license plates.

A taxi ride from the airport to the city centre and main hotel area usually costs 600 to 700 RSD (approximately 5–6 EUR). Most official taxis accept both cash and credit or debit cards.

Public transport is also available. City and suburban buses in Niš are free of charge, and Google Maps provides accurate arrival times as well as route options throughout Serbia:

Bus Line 34 (Circular Route, Direction A) starts at the airport, passes through central areas, and returns to the airport. For the city centre, passengers should get off at the “Main Bus Station” stop, which is within walking distance. Timetable is available at https://jgpnis.rs/red-voznje/

Arriving by plane via Belgrade (BEG) to Niš

For many international travelers, especially on long-haul flights, arrival via Belgrade is the most common route.After landing at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, passengers can reach the city centre or main transport hubs by public transport or taxi.

A typical taxi fare from the airport to the main bus station in New Belgrade (Blok 42) costs around 2,500 to 3,000 RSD (20–25 EUR). Visitors are advised to use only registered taxis, ordered through official phone numbers, mobile apps, or the airport taxi counter. Avoid drivers offering private rides inside the terminal.

Arriving by bus from other European countries

For participants traveling to Serbia by long-distance bus from other European countries, Belgrade is the main international hub. Internation coach connections link Belgrade with many cities, especially from neighboring and nearby countries such as Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Austria, and Germany. Major operators include FlixBus, which connects Belgrade with cities such as Budapest, Vienna, Munich, Prague, and Berlin, as well as Lasta and Eurolines, which serve routes mainly within Southeast and Central Europe. International buses arrive at the Belgrade Main Bus Station (BAS) in New Belgrade (Blok 42). From there, frequent domestic buses operate to Niš throughout the day. As routes, travel times, and ticket availability depend on season and operator, participants are advised to check official company websites or booking platforms in advance.

Travel from Belgrade (Beograd) to Niš

From Belgrade (Beograd in Serbian), frequent intercity buses operate to Niš. Departures are mainly from the Belgrade Main Bus Station (visit BAS for online tickets and timetables) in New Belgrade (Blok 42).

Niš Ekspres is one of the main operators and provides online timetable and ticketing information. Travel time is usually between 2 hours and 40 minutes and 3 hours and 20 minutes. One-way tickets cost approximately 15 EUR. Buses arrive at the main bus station in Niš, located on Bulevar 12. februar, near the Niš Fortress and green market, about five minutes’ walk from the city centre.

Getting around Niš and reaching the venue

Niš offers free public city and suburban transport. Official timetables and route information are available on the JGP Niš website.

For meeting participants, accommodation in the city centre is the most convenient option. From there, the Science and Technology Park Niš can be reached in approximately five minutes by car, ten minutes by bus (Line 12b), or about 25 minutes on foot.

In April, weather conditions are usually pleasant, and walking through the Niš Fortress area is a comfortable and scenic option (venue location)

Currency and payments

The official currency in Serbia is the Serbian dinar (RSD). Cash payments are accepted only in dinars, and visitors are advised to exchange money at banks or licensed exchange offices (“menjačnica”).

Most hotels, restaurants, shops, and taxis accept major credit and debit cards, and everyday payments by card are widely available.
